70-200mm 2.8 IS vs. SLAYER!!!

After being kicked from the photopit after the first 3 slayer songs I broke out the new 70-200 2.8 IS and took these from the balcony, handheld...

So glad I have the 70-200, it arrived just in time too!

thanks! I actually have a few versions of the first one, also in b&w and with a weird golden yellow pattern everywhere.

Awesome photos. But to echo another's post, what happened that got you booted from the photo pit? Was it a "time's up" kind of thing?

standard rules at most larger venus, of course it varies.

rules for slayer was no flash, 3 songs and you're out no problem for me! hehehehe....

at the "corp rock" level, I hear many venues will kick you out of the show, not just the pit. You have to have a ticket/purchase one if you want to stay to watch the show or continue shooting outside the pit.

you are correct, a friend of mine shoots a lot of large 'corp rock' events (justin timberlake, marilyn manson, motley crue, ect) and she's told me that you get ushered out of the venue right after the 1,2, or 3 songs you get unless you have a ticket. I personaly couldn't give a ****, I hate most of that stuff and would be glad to leave after getting the shots.

Also, sometimes the artist won't even let you shoot them from a short distance, you have to be 30+ feet away. Afraid you'll pickup all their blemishes or something.
