Great pole vault shot...The landing in the broad jump, triple jump pit is kind of late in the execution of the event...

Nice shots.
When did pole vaulters start wearing helmets?
What next swimmers with floatation devices on their arms?

Good start - looks like the pit shot is clean and sharp - as posted earlier - a little sooner would have been nice - I'm sure you ealize this.

Good capture on the pole vault - but a little tight, I do not get a sense of how high he is in the air.

I would be curious to know what your camera settings were on this apparent bright sunshinny day were - lens also

Both were shot with my 70-300 IS at iso 125, f/5.6, long jump shutter speed was 1/400 and pole vault shutter was 1/1000. I learned alot as it was my first time to shoot track and field. The more you practice the better you get at timing each event to get the best capture. I can't wait for my next chance.
