Default Alaskan Patriotism

Though it has been so windy up here in AK the past two weeks, there are some advantages. I took this w/ my new 5D and I was blown away. Sharpness and overall IQ is far greater than the 20D. I decided to desaturate the image and only bring out the red stripes. Next to it is the original. Let me know what you think. The mountains provided an excellent backdrop...Too bad there wasn't an eagle flying in the background.

You are right the IQ does look a little better, though it is hard to tell from the jpg file. I like the desaturated shot, i would like the color better if we could get some clouds in the sky up here. maybe if the wind would stop for a hour or so. good shots and congrats on the new 5D, (goes home and cries in pillow because i will never afford one )

thanks, Dustin. Yeah some clouds would have been nice but i also like neutral background...it somehow brings the flag out a little more.
