Default Product photography tutorial

You guys have probably seen nice product shots of just about anything, whether it's on Ebay or otherwise, maybe they look a bit like this..

If you've ever wondered how they get such results, well, I've decided to give away the secrets.....

I wrote up a couple of tutorials that are suitable for both compact camera users and SLR users. Look for the part about the light tents on my site. A fellow POTN'er asked me about it, so I decided to get off my lazy rear and write it up nicely so it could serve as a reference. Hopefully it helps some of ya. Enjoy....

Lightstream, great tutorial. I bought 2 x 500w worklights from Wickes a few weeks back, 50% off so Ģ24 for two, as I wanted to test out some portraits before spending hundreds on proper lights. These light up my tent very well but as you say, they generate mahusive amounts of heat.

Glad you found it useful

The hot lights will give you a good idea about how effective a proper lighting setup can be. Canon's aren't so great doing white balance for tungsten light, so you should get better results with flashes. Let us know how you get on with your better flash lights

Good work. I love my Phototek Light tent - but I especially like it with natural light out on my deck - that's only good part of the year though.

Cool, that's an idea I never thought of - the easy way - stick the tent out in the sun!

Nope, sorry about that. Removed the link from the first post since we are having some unresolved issues. Maybe it'll be back, we'll see how it goes from here.

Welcome to POTN! dementho, if you want to show something that you haven't personally shot, just post a link to it as there are Đ issues?
