20D with Bigma at 500mm. ISO 400 f9 and don't remember the rest. All handheld.

These are much sharper than the ones I shot on the weekend.
Cardinals are paranoid around humans, unlike chickadees! great shots in all...

Those are great, I really like the light, it makes them come alive. It seems like every one I have ever got a shot at, looked blown out because of to bright of light, or to dark, because of overcast. Were these taken early in the morning?

These were taken in the afternoon between 3 and 4. I use the partial metering because I was having the same problems as far as the birds being too dark or blown out. It seems to help.
