Default ATTN: MODS: What a great forum

Hi Mods Pekka/CDS
I am new to this forum and just want to say how impressed I am of this forum especially with just two moderator, wow, you both must work really hard in here! I have been in other forum-albiet MUSIC related- that have disintegrated before my eyes with bickering, fussing, controversy and all out wars. Although I would say that photographers are different than mere music fans, however I am very impressed with this site and hope that you are thanked for all your hard work enough.
Thanks again
Julie

I would agree that the mods do a wonderful job here. Very well done. I would also add that the quality of the active membership is very friendly and helpful. It's the best photography forum around.

Gosh...

Really,.. It is Pekka and the forum membership that deserve all the credit.
The atmosphere and functunality were established by the Architect,. Pekka.

But perhaps more importantly,. though there may only be a pair of us with the title and the extra buttons to click,.. the membership is, quite frankly, a well established, infinately knowledgable, self moderating group of individuals.

Actual "moderation" is required so rarely on this forum,.. and on the very rare occurances that something comes up.. usually it is the diplomacy of our membership that cools hot heads long before a "Moderator's" presence is needed.

So,. I am greatfull for your kind words.. but it is the regulars on the forum who should be thanked, for keeping things so pleasant and fun,. that the most a Moderator needs to do on any given day is move a few topics here and there.

Keep it fun

Yeah, I have noticed that this bunch tends to be very self moderating. That attracts people who want to contribute more and fight less. This in turn attracts more people like that, and a good community forms. Compared to 90% of forums on the Internet, I've found this one to be very pleasant place to hang my hat.

Agree and this is why this forum is much nicer to read than the forums on dpreview.com. Those forums are flooded with irrelevant topics and personal attacks and frankly Phil Askey is not paying much attention to what goes on in his forums. In the beginning of this week I asked Phil 3 times to intervene in topics that had gone completely crazy but he did nothing.
