Default Hoya CPLs and The FIlter Connection

I've been dragging my feet trying to decide on a CPL, but I think after reading a lot of threads here I narrowed it down to 3.

I found great deals (?) on Hoya filters at The Filter Connection (www.2filter.com) that I thought I'd share. S/H is free for purchases over $66.

Hoya HMC 77mm CPL (threads): reg. $156.10, discount $103.11, B&H 155.96
Hoya Super HMC 77mm CPL (slim, no threads): reg. $172.53, discount $100.22, B&H 172.50
Hoya Super HMC Pro 1 77mm CPL (slim w/threads): reg. $226.66, discount $133.33, B&H 224.95

Do I understand it correctly that in order for the lens cap to fit I nead threads?
For use with the XT and 17-40 will I need slim or is regular good enough?
Is The Filter Connection a good place to buy from?

Lots of questions, I know. I appreciate any help I can get

Why have you not chosen Heliopan or B+W filters?

Price, I think. The cheaper (not Kaesemann) multicoated CPL is &144.95 at B&H, the slim $164.95

I have purchased 2 or three times now from http://www.2filter.com/ and they have always immediately shipped my order. I had to call them with some questions once and they were eager to help and seemed to be very knowledgeable.

I would recommend them highly.
