Default Grainy Corrupt Images 350D

Equipment: Canon 350D, Lexar 80x pro-compact flash card, Simgma 8mm fisheye, as well as the two other lens listed in my signature.

I am getting very grainy images and sometimes corrupt images showing a square of multi color lines on the image. Has this happend to any one out there using the 350D ? Is it the 350D, cf card, lens's

I have placed two examples on my server, sorry about image size (15-19 mb .zip) just wanted to show actual restults.

Both images were taken in a three stop process +/- 2 AB. Images were then going to go through HDR process, stitched to create virtual tour.

Please let me know if any additonal info is needed.

Grainy Image

Corrupt Image

Thanks

What were they like before importing into PhotoShop? Were these RAW or JPEG to start with? What ISO were =you using? Other settings? How did you transfer the files from camera to computer? The second one looks like a corrupt card or bad reader or cable. First one looks sort of noisy, but without knowing what your shooting settings were it's hard to say. IIRC, PhotoShop's got a reputation for adjusting exposure on opening files unless you tell it not ot - and that'll bring up noise in underexposed images.

Older versions of the Lexar 80x card had a firmware problem that made them corrupt files when used with Digic-II cameras like your 350D. The problem was especially noticeable when the card got full.

Here is a page where you can read about the problem, and Lexar's program to exchange those cards:

Thank you for the info !
Jon,
Images were shot in RAW, I shoot RAW 99.9% of the time. ISO = 100, f/8, Aperture Priority, Auto Bracket.
Transfered images with USB cable attached to 350D.
Could you supply me the adjustments to tell PS not to adjust exposure on opening files ? This file was meant to be underexposed with the bracketing.
Thank you for the info

Doug,
Thank you for the link on the lexar card, I'll give it a read.

Thanks again,
Matt

You'll have to ask someone who uses PhotoShop. I use Paint Shop Pro when I need more than RSP can do.

if you mean to remove the auto functions on adobe camera raw, untick all the auto boxes when opening a cr2 and set everything to default, and then click the (>) and go to "Save new camera raw defaults".

I don't mean to be rude, burntpixel, but if you want people to help you then there are easier ways of going about it than posting 15MB files! Life's too short, I'm afraid...
