Default Web Site

Hello out there,

I've been loving photography for around 4 years now and one day I'd love to get into Pro wedding photography... Sooooooo..... I thought that I'd get myself a web address www.davykelly.co.uk

I've done some work on it but it's still got a way to go yet. The photo's on there are ones that I have taken while asisting another photographer at the weekends. It's a bit of a mix match, more of a dream than a reality, but hey it's a start.

I'd love to know what you think.

All the best, Davy

PS, I know that there is something not quite right about the address as I had to forward the site to the address that you'll see in the address bar, but I'm sure that's something that I'll be able to sort with a little help from one of my geeky computer mates

Your site is simple and easy to navigate and has a consistent look to it through all pages, so that's good.

Your image on the homepage is 409kb!!! That's huge! The first thing I noticed was how slow the first image loaded. You could probably get that down to under 100k without much quality degradation.

In the service industry, people aren't sold on products, they are sold on PEOPLE, and their belief and trust in you. So your About Me section should be all about YOU and your PERSONALITY, not your statistics like name, age, birthday. You like fishing? Say it. You have a passion for woodworking? Say it. You smoke weed? Well... don't mention that but you get the idea...

In your gallery, the reflections are nice... but when you start updating your gallery, it is going to be a pain to maintain that look. Also, people generally expect to see a larger version when you click a photo.

yes, that is true. Design it for a 1024x768 or 800x600 screen size with no scrolling.

I noticed you used iWeb for the website, very nice.

What you'll have to do is make a web-ready image of your images and drag them into iWeb, as when you drag the full res images into iWeb, it grabs those and doesn't compress them at all. Hence the large image sizes.

Nice site though, I love iWeb - very simple and easily navigational.

Great job and best of luck!
