We just ordered a 2016 Cherokee and were thinking of trying something like this! I was worried it would be too much for the top of the vehicle. What's your experience?

It is amazing. I hate to use the word "life changing" to describe a tent lol, but it really is. We can set up camp practically anywhere, and the tent pops up in under a minute. Just have to unlatch 4 hooks and it pops right up. Taking it down takes under 5 minutes and a little muscle, but not bad. I have done trips by myself and have no issues setting up/breaking down the tent. Even with my wife/friends I do it myself.

I keep it on the Jeep 24/7 and haven't had any issues, just need to be aware of height restrictions for parking garages. I lost maybe 2MPG and no additional road noise.

My biggest gripe is how how the Thule cross rails make the tent sit. I am looking for custom cross rails so the tent can sit practically ontop of the side rails.
