Anyone here own a Alien Bees Beauty Dish?

I was hoping to get some samples of this item since I am pretty intrested in what I read about them.

Hi Umesh,

Within the last week or so I recall someone posting that they had gotten the AB Beauty dish and we asked for photos but I'm not sure if they were ever posted and I don't recall seeing a review or followup post. Perhaps a 'beauty dish' search will find it.

There is one sample and you might want to PM the poster (charlesu) of the image. He owns it and apparently knows how to get good results with it.

I got one. I've only had my beauty dish for less than a week and only have shot with my ab's once (temproary setup in my living room to make sure things worked)... so I haven't done a "real" shoot with it yet but here is what I got.

(dish and ab800 hitting subject, and ab800 for background)

Honestly.. I could've gotten the same effects (same type of shot) using my small strobes... But I will experiement with it more once I do a real shoot on location & have some time.

Here's some more... Once agian nto a real shoot just messing around, guess'ing and checking. Those aren't catchlights in the eyes.

Just the Dish slightly to my right (high).

Dish to my right a few feet(high), with 20 grid spot in back of head.
