We just hosted our criterium race this past Sunday at Berkeley for NCAA Cycling. I brought my G2 along and shot the event. It was my first time doing cycling photography and I was quite impressed how well the shots turned out since the cyclists were traveling around 25 MPH the whole time and it was hard to get a focus beforehand. The only post processing done was cropping and some brightness adjust on a few images. Shooting on it this weekend is making me itch the wallet and look at potential dSLR's for the next upgrade. 10D, 300D or D70 ......
http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites (my favorite/best shots out of the 200 I kept. The rest are in another album.) Comments would be appreciated if you have any too! |

I went through the first page(Didn't have time for all 72 just yet), and it looks like you did a pretty good job with these Bikers. Enjoy. .......Bruce |

I picked some of my 'all time favorites' since 72 is still a bunch. http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4049 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4064 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4114 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4120 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4129 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4151 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4225 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4255 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4282 http://tinani.c7f.net/brandon/Favorites/IMG_4284 Does anyone have any suggestions for getting fast moving objects in focus better? I panned the camera with 90% of the shots, but some of the earlier ones were still out of focus. |

Compensating for his small ... sensor

I really like No. 4129!
![]() I think you have great panning technique to get this effect with the G 2. I also like the colours and the determined look on the guy's face. Best regards, Andy |

Great pics nice panning, well done. I like the above pic also like 4114 as they are all concentrating and in a line, I wondered if it was cropped a bit more it might add to the drama although you see the wheel in front they are chasing so might not.

I really like 4114 a lot too. I cropped it from an original shot, but I wasn't sure if the other wheel in the left should stay or not. Granted you would know they are racing, I thought it might add something else. 4129 is probably my favorite out of the 300 or so pictures I shot. I was just surprised how many of the shots actually remained in focus with everything going so fast.
