Default Forum Meeting/Field Trip

I've notices that quite a lot of active forum members live relatively close to NY: CT, NJ, RI, MA, NY itself. What do you guys think about a forum members meeting or a field trip? We spend so much time here discussing various issuses, so I think it's time to meet in the real life People from other states/countries, of course, are welcome too

My suggestion for the location and time is the Central Park in NY, one of the weekends in June. So, what do you think? Opinions? Ideas?

If you make it early enough in June, even I could be there. I expect to be in the NY area around Memorial Day and shortly thereafter.

That would be great. We can all meet, take pics, discuss different techniques and let the wives shop! ! ! ... as long as they take an order for us at B&H!

Golden Gate Park / June? That'll make it coast-to-coast!

I have an idea: why don't you all fly to Finland and I'll drive you around and we shoot some photos. What was that world record of filling a Volkswagen again?

Sorry, Pekka,
I think it will be easier if every forum member will contribute $1 for your ticket to NY

Sounds good to me. Anyone on the way from Boston to NYC (CDS, Sandy?) want to car-pool or something?

I can probably swing an NY trip.. I mean why bother with anywhere else but the most unlikely place in the country to get your gear stolen?

lol...

Carpools would be a VERY good idea where NY is concerned... parking can be,.. how shall we say.. difficult? Costly?

We should have a Scandinavian Meeting too... maybe the same day..

I'll look at the Theatre's schedule... June can be tricky... but it's not too bad.

That sounds like a great idea. My mother is from Finland and I have relatives there. IcelandAir has just started service to Helsinki and they have some great introductory fares...cheaper than "L" glass.

As a bonus you can stop over in Iceland for some fantastic photo opportunities as well.

I might be able to swing a short trip up I-95 - and let's not forget that the International Center for Photography is in NYC - right on Central Park.

If you're truly into photography, this is a great stop.
