Default Situps to get buff

Teenagers nowadays seem to care much about their fitness. But how many situps does an average teenagers have to do and for how many weeks/months to develop a 6-pack? (Lots of future models for shooting in the future )

It's more about diet than a million situps, unless you get ripped no one will ever see the muscle. Eat only the good stuff, fruits, vegetables and some very lean protein. Forget situps, do crunchs, reverse crunches, incline leg lifts all in STRICT form. Get and read any book written by Bill Pearl.
Then tell you future models, no smoking, no drugs, no beer and no soda pop.

Like AB8ND said its more diet than crunches/situps. Then comes commitment. I find hanging leg raises work for me. Then side hanging leg raises get the obliques. But then again everyone build muscle differently.

My models have all traded their six-packs in for kegs.

Why oh why does it have to be all about starving and doing a bunch of sit-ups. I mean, couldn’t it be all about sitting on my fat a$$ and eating Boston cream doughnuts?

Haha, bodybuilders eat more food than you could ever imagine. They just eat foods that aren't loaded with crap.

You need to have a low body fat % to see them. A few other tips...
1) you only need to work your abs 2-3 times a week. Any more than that and your over doing it.
2) Like everyone has said...dont just do sit ups. mix it up with hanging leg raises, reverse, incline, obliques, etc...
3) If you do a lot of reps in your set then you are building muscle endurance. Not necessarily making them bigger but making them work longer. You want to add weight so you max out around 12 or so. That way you are building muscle and not endurance.

You don't need to starve or work out. Just wash dishes manually, sweep the floor instead of using a vacumn cleaner, ow the grass with a push mower instead of petrol or electric mower. Do the things that we've all bought labour saving gadgets to do for us and you'll soon get fit. Then eat a healthy diet - low fat, low sugar and low salt. Fresh fruit instead of choccolate as a snack. It works.

Switch to the "perfect" diet. Sometimes called the "original human diet".

No grains of any kind.
No dairy of any kind. (except real butter)
Very small amounts of legumes.
Spices are ok, but nothing with salt. For salt, ONLY use Sea Salt.
Cook with olive oil or walnut oil. No vegetable oil..that stuff'll kill ya.
Plenty of vegetables, but again, only organic if you can.
Eat fish (only wild caught) and meat (organic is important. antibiotics and hormones in the supermarket variety).
Fruit is alright, but try and stay away from the high sugar ones, like watermelon, raisins, and grapes (if you eat grapes, eat chilean).
Take well balanced multivitamins. Not the kind from wally world, but a good kind. Thorne Research makes the best, called "Basic Nutrients III".

Very basically speaking, that's about it. I started this diet just over a month ago, and I've lost 45 lbs., and that's with little to no exercise. I'm starting a workout regiment now, and I can't wait to see what that brings. It should be insane.

This diet is so healthy and productive, that very few doctors will ever endorse it. This is because some (not all, but a lot) doctors are paid bonuses by drug companies for prescribing name brand medications. It makes up a good chunk of their income. There's no money to be made from healthy people.

This diet has been proven to eradicate diabetes, neuropathy, heart disease, and several types of cancer, amongst others. Check it out.

you can work your abs everyday. this is one bodypart that CAN be worked everyday, unlike other areas where you NEED to rest those parts for at least 24 hrs.

That sounds pretty much like Atkins. I do well on the Atkins diet, but can't sustain it for more than 3 months. As soon as the white comes back, aka, potatoes, rice, white bread so does the weight.

i dunno, those atkins diets and all protien diets are a fad imo.

if you just eat right, and exercise, things will come................and fat will go.

the more muscle you have, the less fat you will have.

Atkins type diets don't work unless you stay on them forever. For every gram of carb you consume you retain 3 grams of water. With these diets there are no carbs to retain water so the majority of the weight you lose is water. As gil711 mentions the weight comes right back. Also if you introduce white or refined sugars rather than whole grains this happens even quicker as the insulin spike caused by refined grains causes the body to store rather than use. Refined grains should only be eaten diretly after a workout (weights, not aerobics).

Diets like the one I'm on aren't meant to "lose just 10 lbs. for the event" or whatever. It's a healthy way of organic, natural, poison-free eating that will take you through your entire life.

Eating isn't meant to be fun. It's meant to keep you alive.
