"Now what?"
|
What? No option for the 800mm f/5.6L?
Fine then, 24-70mm f/2.8L gets my vote. |

I'm surprised the 35 f/1.4 and the 50 f/1.2 each got less than 1% of the votes. I can't afford either, but if I could chose between the 35 f/1.4 or the 24-105 f/4 IS as my only lens, I'd choose the prime any day.

There were two I was going to vote for, based on recent use and neither were on the list ?? (unless I missed them). For the last 4 months, my walk arounds have been the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 and the Canon 60mm 2.8. Not sure why they were left off?

I ticked the Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8.. I own and like this lens as a general purpose lens.. I often stick my Tamron SP AF 1.4X TC in my pocket just in case.. These two work well together..

Does not surprise me that the 24-105 got such a high count!

In Scotland and New Zealand this lens 24-105 was my main lens and it was on my camera about 85% of the time, 10% my 16-35, and the rest between 70-200, 100 macro and 100-400.

I have a crop body I'm stuck between the 17-55mm and 24-105mm. I love the L but there's much good review on the 17-55mm. This is my first expensive glass and I want the best choice possible cause it's going to be a while for me to upgrade again. I shoot cars, random things, and night. Was going for 17-55mm but with 500+ vote on the 24-105.. Stuck again, is it because 24-105mm get the FF vote 2?

My 24-105mm stays on my XTi body 95% of the time and only comes off when I use my 70-200mm lens for wildlife shots and my 50mm for closeup flower shots..

I took a dive and went for the 17-55mm and hopefully upgrade to a 50D after I pay my debt for this glass. FF is not going to happen any time soon but damn the long zoom on the 24-105mm is so nice but I gotta have the wide angle and especially f/2.8. Sometime I get lazy and shoot indoor stuff to sell online.

I voted Canon 17-55 2.8 IS for my crop body 50D.

Why EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is not included into list?
I think one of the best walkaround lenses because its performing quality similar to 17-55 and has wide focal length. I voted for 17-55 and 24-70 btw. |

Probably due to a couple of things:
1) The thread hasn't had any activity since July 2009 and is old as dirt before that; 2) The lens in question wasn't released until September 2009. PM Mike (In2Photos) and ask him to update the poll to included this model. Welcome to POTN!
