If I had to pick I'd say 1 -- never would I pick the second image.

i'm not too sure what your frame of mind/premise/intent was on adding the filter effect on the 2nd, but purely on an aesthetic level, the first entails great lines, and texture which i wouldn't want to rid of. it delivers a context to focus on, other than just the main subject.

I like the first one more than the second. Contrast is cool but not sure about the blue on the right? Has no relation to the main scene for me apart from colour. On the first, would have liked it more if the camera was pointed straight on and didn't have the converging verticals. On the second, the zoomed idea has no context. No reason to do that effect in this static scene, if that make sense?
