Default If you have extra $200 to spend...

what would you buy to add to your gear for wedding? i'm debating if i should get a 580ex or a light meter or a couple more wedding books from Tim's suggested list.

the downside is it's a gift certificate from amazon.com.. so kinda limited to what i can get i suppose.

any suggestions?

Books. If you don't already have the 580.

A battery or 2 for my 1D. I think mine are pretty much shot.

Personally, as I already have a flash and all taht good stuff that Corey suggested, I'm getting a flash meter (my tax return was a little higher than expected, hence I do have the $200). Still debating on which one, but ya...

$200 is a very small amount in terms of the equipment you need, and you didn't say what you have already. I make recommendations in my FAQ - linked in my sig.

I'd get more memory. There are some great bargains at the moment, particularly on Amazon. Hmmm...new tripod would be nice too. Mine sux.

You really can't have too many 580's..........I'm up to 3 already and looking to get a few more. They make for a great studio in a bag and put out more than you need in most cases............but that's just me

congrats on your tax return.. i for once had to pay taxes forgot to withheld tax on this consulting job i did last year... so got bit in the arse big time! so which kind of light meter would you recommend? i'm not to familiar with light meters, cuz i've always thought the evaluative or spot metering mode on the camera will work 99% of the time. that is until i started reading about light meter which got me curious.
