Yup...Yup... and I need some advice here.
My exwife called the Police on me because I have Pictures of My 2 boys on my flickr despite the fact we have joint custody. I'm soooo upset that I can't even think straight ! |

I honestly don't think this is the place for a debate of this nature. Plus you are a little thin on details. This has more to do with your relationship with your ex than it does photography, imo.

Your wife thinks you broke a law. I'm dead certain you didn't. I ASSUME the police gave you a heads up that maybe you should take them down to shut her up.
Do what you think is right.

I know it's not the right place to discuss this but I'm just looking some opinions...
I'm not being accused of anything they told me that she is not that comfortable with the pictures of my kids in my flickr and if I don't put them down she will take me to court. |

After I chewed on this, don't back down. Having pictures of your kids online in a family, posed and happy setting should never be discouraged.
You could show about 92476484 threads here that show this. Photographers need to stand up to this. So do fathers. Fathers get railroaded.

OMG what a... horrible person your wife is (or maybe paranoid)
My mom is overprotective and doesn't want me to put up pictures of my brother either. She thinks a maniac will cyber-pick him and track in real life. I don't think you can be sued for posting a picture of YOUR OWN kid on the net. Technically, you should be able to post anybody as long as it's non profit and public place. But then I don't wanna read about you being a "groundbreaking case" in terms of pedophilia prevention. Never having a wife, let alone kids I say stick to your guns. Good luck

Unless the photos are in some way illegal or immoral, I can't see how it can be a problem. Millions of family photos are posted on websites every day with no problem. Sounds like the problem here is an ex looking to make a stink.

Well it's easy to agree with Cosworth here, because in principle, he's right. The question you need to ask yourself is how hard you're willing to fight for those principles, how much you're willing to pay in attorney fees.
We all need to pick our battles in life, and we need to choose carefully when kids are likely to get caught in the middle. Good luck to you.

Very true Curtis. But if she wins this little fight, she will make him cave on anything else. A slippery slope for his future life apart from her and dealing with his children.
"Can of worms" comes to mind.

well, if you can speak to a lawyer beforehand, you could maybe see if the case has any foundation or if it can be simply rejected by the court... IANAL (I am not a lawyer), but I don't think your wife has any grounds to hold something like that and such a case may be simply dismissed by the court.

Yeah I would say forget about the rights and wrongs of photography for a minute, just make sure your kids don't get caught up in this. Don't mean to be disrespectful but if she was prepared to go to the police over such a trivial matter (to me this is very low and was a rather spiteful, and revengeful attitude) then just think about what she might put into the mind's of your own children should you not back down...
Maybe you could put them back up when things are a little more amicable?
