Since everyone is talking about warranties, how important they are and how much you have to fear gray market... so I hope this poll will throw some light on this. Check option that is most appropriate; if you had 3 lens out of which all needed service under warranty and 1 was grey market you would check the regular market lens option; if it's 1:1 let the coin decide.

My 10D's shutter froze about a month before the Canon warranty expired
Service was quicker then they told me (about 2 weeks) They fixed the problem and they cleaned the CMOS as well |

No problems yet, so I have no experience with Canon warranties. I do have a 100-400L which is still under warranty and needs repair, but the problems were a result of my stupidity, so I won't ask them to pay for the repairs......unless they volunteer.

Wasn't a warranty issue but my 100-200 wasn't focusing. I took it in to Canon CPS office at the Indy 500. Guy took it apart and basically said, "It will focus at 100 but, 200 won't do a thing. Nice Paper weight."
I bought the lens used and had it for 10 years so I didn't expect them to repair or replace it. It was great that they just looked at it. |
