Default Selective color baseball shot

Hey all:

Here's my first attempt at posting a photo so be kind. (Or not, I can take it I think.) I know sometimes selective coloring is overdone but I thought it gave sort of a nostalgic look to this photo.

I like the idea, works well for me, is this during the national anthem? I'm always hesitant to shoot during this time, not sure of the etiquette associated with it.

Interesting. Almost looks like they are pasted in from another photo.

Im no expert but theres a couple of ways you can achieve something similar

First one is in abobe select

your brush then black in the color pallet

after youve done that on the menu above the color pallet click the drop down menu then select color, then just brush the areas you want black on white.

Second one.

Theres an action you can download that does it for u also u jst have to brush the areas

I'd desaturate an image then paste the origional color image on top then its a matter of highlighting and deleting pixels on top...

P.S. I'd recomend a tad bit less saturation on the color parts.

Thanks for all the commnents. This was indeed shot during the anthem. As far as etiquette goes, to me I'm there to do a job. I usually shoot video for live TV at the games and we certainly don't stop for the anthems. That's when you go in for your nice closeups and flag shots and crowd shots.

Selective coloring in photoshop is very easy for anyone that wants to learn it. While I'd like to claim otherwise, it really doesn't take any skill, just a bit of patience.

Looks great. You appear to have missed the areas between their feet with your brush, though. It looks like you used layer masks to do this, correct?

bit over the top, i'de say either make the background -90 and men -10, or background-100 and men -30. there just seems to be too much contrast there. just my opinion though

Maybe a sepia tone in the bg would help with the nostalgia look.
