I'm going to be staying in Ogunquit, ME for 4 days in 2 weeks. Has anyone been there? I'm looking for tips on cool places to take pictures.
Thanks in advance! EDIT: I'm back! The pics are here: Let me know what you think!

Ogunquit is a new town, but there is a nice beachfront IIRC. You will be fairly close to Portland, which has some old industrial type buildings, and lots of dense forest. I was there about 8 years ago, so things may have changed.

Lucky you! I was there only for one summer day back some 15 years ago. With such limited stay, I only did obviously the top priority -- eating lobsters! As a person who grew up in the west coast, I thought the Ogunquit beach side views offered lots of interesting photo opportunities. Have fun!

Every year I drive by it going much further north, but I have some great friends there (they visit here every Thanksgiving). If you like good music, check out Lex and Joe, and tell them Marty said hello. Unfortunaltely they are not very photographic.

Go to Kennebunkport (about 15 min. north) and you'll find some beautiful "beach houses"
Have fun!

You HAVE to go to York Beach to shoot the Nubble Lighthouse. Do a search on here for it. I think I read it is one of the most photographed Lighthouses in the USA.

On the subject of lighthouses... Since you're going to be in the neighborhood (more or less) of Portland, ME, you can check out the Portland Head Light (at Fort Williams Park), yet another contender for America's Most Photographed Lighthouse.
If you had more time, I'd suggest a some time up in Bar Harbor / Acadia National Park... but perhaps another time. - Vince |

I used to live in Mass and go up to Maine all the time, but moved to MD in the early 90's. I can't wait to get back up there! Hopefully it encourages me to start visiting regularly again.

Nice stuff, Sean. Many interesting shogts. I really love Maine. You got some good shots even without the Sun. The last one was my favorite.
