Those are "pre ban" 30 round mags, Just FYI, I like to participate in target match shooting. Trigers and Shutters, my two favorite!

Hi CDS .223, AzzKicker, it is actually a CAR-15, I'm not sure what the difference is, but I know it is shorter and has a colapseable stock, the regurlar AR is much larger in length and stock size.

Keep in mind,. these were taken with my little old Olymous digicam.. so no critiques! This is my own custom 1911... Essex frame with a Caspian slide. Bar Sto .45 barrel with full length guide rod.. (it has a second barrel in .400 Cor-Bon) SVI trigger at a babby smooth 2 lbs.. a smith and Alexander beavertail grip safety... what else? Oh yeah,. the big red dot sight.. I never use it. It was an experiment.. but I stick with the iron sites. //p.s. I'm stil a liberal! |

Essex and Caspian are very old manufactureres of 1911 parts.. long before the current 1911 "craze" and kimber..
It used to be.. (really not that long ago) there were only four ways to get a 1911.. 1. Colt (remember them?) 2. Government Surplus 3. Springfield (back then they had one or two models.. not dozens!) 4. Custom made peices based on Caspian and Essex frames. At that time the only ones that were accutrate and reliable were the custom guns... Even if you bought a pricey colt,. you were nuts not to send it out to a 'smith for fine tuning. It was really the "new breed" companies like Kimber and Para-Ordnance that put the kind of quality and reliablity that used to only come form the custom guns into a finely manufacturerd "stock" 1911. Even today many of the custom gunsmith "name" peices are still based on these parts. Novak, Heinie, Sokol, all could be Caspian's to start with. The site is a straight "Red dot" site.. no magnfication at all.. they are just really fast to work with for speed competitions. It's sort of like shooting with a laser,. except it only projects the DOT on the glass in the tube.. thus the large diameter.. it makes it easier to see the whole "picture" I really don't use the "DOT" much though. |

I'm very jealous of your preban goodies! You know what it's like trying to get a collapsible M4 type stock these days? I don't know if you ever looked at my site (I discussed it with someone here once), but I have a Bushmaster AR-15 that my neighbor (a gunsmith) and I have converted into a .50BMG. We used mostly Barrett parts for the conversion and I had a nice write up and some videos of it on my site at one point, unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth or server space to keep them up.
I'll try to get all my toys out when I get home and get some pictures of them all together. Cool pic btw.

but isn't Bush saying he is going to sign the continuation of it? I abhor politics and avoid it as much as possible, but I thought I saw something on CNN the other day saying the NRA was all pissed off because he was going to resign it? Maybe not, I dunno.

One of the new Bans that they have been trying to push through is aimed directly at your .50 BMG!
For some reason these oddball extreme hobiest rifles have drawn the ire of the antigun lobby. It is a great thing really,. a perfect example of how completely off base the anti gun laws can be.. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE CASE! Not ONE case where the .50BMG has been used in the commision of a crime in US history. // did someone say "Pre-Ban" |
