NHL Playoffs

I took my P+S camera to a NHL game last week. I wanted to take the Rebel, but I could not get it into the arena

Here is where I was sitting.. all these shots are taking from my seats, and hand held.

They won't let you in with a SLR??

We have limits here (DALLAS) but it's on the lens size. 4" and smaller.

I sneak my 70-200mm f/2.8 into the Garden in Boston all the time.

Now only if I knew how to use it.....

In Nashville I can walk in with my camera bag that has the rebel xt, 70-300mm and 2x extender with no problem.

What are you doing bringing a lens into a game without a camera body?

I agree with ghms421 they are pretty good for what you had.

Damn I cant believe you guys at other arenas get to take that kind of equipment. When I go see the Ducks they hassle you if your camera is anything other than a p&S. I only wish I could get in with my 20D.

BTW...GO DUCKS!!!

I get to take nothing. If it has a detachable lens it is not allowed. Funny cuz your P and S does a better job pulling the shots in than my Rebel w/ a kit lens. Great shots by the way.

I called GM Place before going to the Canucks game and they told me that you could bring any P&S or an SLR as long as it's 77mm or shorter. When I told them that some P&S have FL way longer than 77mm, she just said, "Oh....don't know. Well then you can bring it, but you can't use it."

I ended up making an arrangement to get in the stadium with all my gear though. I had really crappy seats right in the back of the stadium (upper level), but even with a 75-300mm lens, my pics are not as good as these.
