Default Moon attempt

This is my first time shooting the moon.

Do you have any reccomendations?

I shot this with a D80 ISO 100... in JPG (maybe should have done raw) 300mm.

not my area, Bill, but it's a nice shot. I try to avoid walking under the moon in case it's falling.
Generally speaking, i'd recommend RAW when you're trying to get the most out of such photos. It isn't simply the latitude in exposure, although that is important, but your shots will have much more substance. It's night and day (moon-wise).

regards
John

aperture is perfect, it does look a bit out of focus though.
