It does look like a House Finch, except for that yellow on the throat. Nice shot though.

The bill seems kind'a thick - it might be a Cassin's (spelling) Finch.

Looks like a House finch to me. The coloring other than on the throat is to light to be a Cassin's I think? There is a Yellow/Orange mutation thet is fairly common in the west, maybe it just got a bit of yellow on it.?

I was lucky to get him while he munched on those flowers. You can see a little of it on his beak.
