Default Leaning tower of Weevils :-)

Hiya All,

Here are four shots of three Weevils practicing acrobatics

I found these shots ery hard as it's been very windy & the little beggars just wouldn't hold still for me

#1 is all three on top of each other

#2 is the pile collapsing

#3 is just one left on the leaf, the others flew off

#4 is a tight crop Portrait

Cheers for now
Mark

Excellent find Mark- never knew weevils did circus acts or was it pornography

Wow, these guys are very interesting. I've seen several shots today of weevils doing weird things like this, lol. Anyways nice shots, I have never seen (or even heard of before coming to this forum) a weevil before. Would you find these guys in Florida?

I love weevils, and I love a leaning stack of weevils even more!

Hiya Brian, Shane, Samgoit, Mike4BeckA, Joayne,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments,
Brian,
Just let the imagination run away, acctualy I'm a wee bit concerned as to the mass of Weevils I now have & what damage will ensue, they seem to love being on my Solanum Hedge & next doors Buddleia Globosa, I guess only time will tell

Cheers for now
Mark

Only thing I sometimes do to an uncontrolled outbreak of bugs (from the gardening POV) is blast them off with a hose pipe, but I very rarely have to do that anymore- seem to have the right predators or parasites

Excellent series of images Mark, strange, I've never seen more than one weevil in the same place, let alone doing either acrobatics or pornography!

Great shots of ugly bugs!

I don't get many, if any, weevils out here in my part of the world.

Hiya Brian, Dave, SingingSabre, Twinx, Alby,

Many thanks for your kind words & comment, sorry for not replying sooner I seem to be all six's & seven's ere health-wise & find it difficult to always keep up with things on here I tend to lose track of who's done what, where & when ( silly ol bugger ) anyway I get there eventually !!

Brian,
All I can do is keep my fingers crossed for the next year or so as my garden is basically new in as much that I grubbed it out & have replanted over the last year so it'll need time to ' Settle '

Alby,
Murder Ball came to mind, ever played that ? great fun, two teams, a bucket at each end of a Footie Pitch, no rules, the Ref drops the ball runs of the Pitch & all hell breaks out, the team that wins is the first score ten balls in the bucket or the team with last man standin, nothing like a good bundle for lettin of steam eh

Ah memories

Cheers for now
Mark
