Default running creek in montana, "the swan range"

my girlfriend and i went out the other day and we took some pictures.
if you look in the gallery http://photosbydan.fotopic.net/c1270806.html i have quite a few, what effect do you guys shoot for.
from not slowed down at all, to slowed down to a whispy blurr.
i have a hard time deciding what effect i want with each picture, i know that each situation usually warents something diffrent, but i find that most have a perfered.
as allways i would love some advice.

I don't have any advice, but these pictures are beautiful!

I think it's entirely personal preference. I struggle with the same thing, so I usually take a whole bunch of shots. Everywhere from 1/4 second up to a second or two. I find that the ones I like the most are usually between a 1/4 and 1/2 second, but for me, it depends on whether it's actually falling water, or running water (if that makes sense to you). For falling water, a faster shutter works better for me, and for running water, a little slower, but not too much.
I think yours are a little long, for my tastes, but again, that's just me. They're still very nice shots.

i tried to take a bunch as well, however i started with the longer ones and then got too cold to work my way down, i was standing in the river, i was unsure how they would turn out, i was afraid the water would move my tripod and make them blurry... but to my surprise it didnt.
