Any recommendations on tripods? I'm looking for a lightweight, tall ( I'm 6'1'') it's for a G2.

Get the basic Manfrotto/Bogen aluminium tripod then. More than sturdy enough for you, and will be more than enough for you in the future, should you decide to buy an SLR outfit. Nice and light, too...
