Excellent shots, Brian. As a newbie to macro, I'm wondering what aperture typically works for macro shots like these where the subject comes out pretty evenly focused at the front half while everything from the back half out are blurred?

Good shots Brian. What is the secret to seeing the stereo images. All I seem to get is a headache.

Thanks for the comments all

SYS- depends a lot on what you are shooting and at what magnification but F11 is a good balance for 1:1 macros- if you want less DOF try F8.

Irwin - for the 3-D shots try this. Sit about 1.5 feet from the monitor, and put a finger up about 4 " in front of your nose in front of the pair of images and focus on your finger. This should make you go cross eyed. If you look past your finger you should then see 3 images on the screen. Try then relaxing your eyes whilst you look at the 3rd image and as you do, move your finger out of the way.

Aww, beautiful shots. It certainly looks a little dejected. I found one similar this morning that was thoroughly drenched so I did my kind deed of the day and cut the tip off the shrub it was on and put it in the sun

Thanks Pete
No backlighting, but the leaf was very near the top of a lightish stone wall so suspect I got some light bouncing back from that.
