Any locals from Orlando / Kissimee, Florida ?

I will probably visit Orlando in september and am considering buying a lens there. So can any locals tell me if any of the shops in Orlando / Kissimee area have reasonable prices for lenses such as the 100-400 mm L ?

Coming from Denmark there is a lot of money to be saved. This lens cost in Denmark approx $2246 to compare it cost $1300 at B&H ! And that is a big difference.

I think you'll find that most of the people in Orlando are tourists from out of town just visiting for a couple of days or maybe a weeks or so.

I was born in Orlando and have lived in the area all my life. I did find a place called Global Camera Gallery on International drive and they have an online coupon for 20% off. International drive has a reputation as a tourist trap to us locals. I will be in that area today and I will see if I can help you out. I just went thru your posts and noticed on 5/9/2004 in the Harris Hawk thread you said you had a 100 400 is L, not trying to be confrontational but are you looking for another one 8) ?

I just went thru your posts and noticed on 5/9/2004 in the Harris Hawk thread you said you had a 100 400 is L, not trying to be confrontational but are you looking for another one 8) ?

Well I think You misread that one I have a 70-200 mm F4L I would like a 100-400 mm L if I can find a reliable dealer in Orlando so I can purchase it when I hopefully visit in september.

Tommy, how long are you going to be in Orlando and will you be staying with family or friends rather than a hotel?

If you are going to be staying with family or friends, you might do better to order your lens from B&H and have it shipped there.

[edit]However, now that I think of it, if you're going to use a credit card, you might have trouble getting B&H to ship to an address different from what is on your CC.[/edit]

Nothing is definate yet but probably 3 weeks. But shipping to an hotel address in Orlando would probably not be something I would be comfortable with.

But I am considering having a stopover in New York for a day or two, then I can pick it up directly from B&H Photo. But would still like to know addresses for shop in Orlando just in case.

Thought I would bring this back again since tickets are now ordered and I am landing in Miami on april 4 this year - YIPPIIII - can't wait.

I am still considering buying my next lens on my holiday to Florida. Now since my travel plans have changed somewhat since this post was started I wanted to ask again but this time I would like to know about any good reliable camera shops I can stop by on the way from Miami to Orlando. We will be driving up from Miami to Orlando the day after arrival. I am not planning to spend any time in Miami itself except for the stay at the airport hotel.
