I took this picture at a old house recently. C&C welcome
Camera Details:
Model - Canon 400D
ExposureTime - 1/25 seconds
FNumber - 4.50
ExposureProgram - M

I like it as well but would like to see the image rotated so at least that first step is on a perfect horizon line.

I think the angle adds too the image.. its spooky so shouldnt be perfect.

Is it possible that there is some lens distortion? The bottom step seems to slope down going from left to right, but the horizontal lines in the window seem to slope up going from left to right.

I forgot to add that I like the composition and the mood of the photo.

No there is no distortion in the lens. Its a 50 years old house. In those days these houses were made by hand without much of equipments.

Where is this house? Do you really mean 50 years?

In 1957 they used power tools and levels, just like today.

Well, it does not really matter. I was trying to say that I do not believe the picture needs straightening.

nice shot but i just seem to want the camera at a lower angle, bit farther back(if its possible) and darker at the bottom of the stairs. that way it would lead your eyes up the stairs to the light. still great , moody shot.
