The second annual California Capital Airshow is June 9-10 at Mather AFB. Is anyone going from Sac area?
I went the first time, but didn't have good gear at the time, I hope to do better this time. BTW here's the site: http://www.californiacapitalairshow.com/

Hey, I am game, today I put in for my media credential. It should be a hoot. Specially when the USAF is around with their shiny Thunderbirds. (Nothing wrong with the Navy, but sailors do belong at sea

What are the advantages of media credentials? Do you get the prime spot during the shows/races and have a right not to be bothered by security?

LOL, I wish. I am using a rented Bigma right now, and so far I prefer the 100-400L...

I can only imagine the shots you'll get with the Bigma. Hopefully they'll have some good stuff at this airshow

Yea, it is pretty good when the light allows and I can get a good grip on it, but I think the 100-400L images are a bit sharper and I like push-pull better. I just am having trouble with people saying the 100-400 is a dust sucker. Plus the extra 50 on each end is pretty sharp on the Bigma. I will post some samples later...

Have you been to the Salinas International Airshow? I went on 05 and took my little 28-135. The FA-18s flew so low I got a few decent photos with the lens. I can't wait to get the 70-200 out for a test drive with the 2X.

Yes I will be there along with several other fencecheckers and ISAP members.
This was a hot show last year and one of the better of the season. But there was not enuf chow and the lines were hecka long, So I hope that they have figured that out, and done some corrections. I have out in for credentials too but have yet to hear anything. My buddy Sergio, and I think Sagar both fencecheckers will be there as well. if anybody is interested the best in A/C photography can be seen at www.fencecheck.com. Les |
