Come one, Come all. June 3, 2007, at Green Chimneys for Rapture and Raptors. Birds of Prey Day. It's a fun filled day for all, including kids, in Brewster, N.Y., about two miles north of the end of I-684

I went last year with a few forum members and we had a great time. There's lots and lots to shoot. It is rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can be had online or the day of the event.

Depends on where in Manhattan. My guess is 60 miles northeast of B&H.

Sounds interesting. Unfortunately with my camera being in the canon repair dept, I don't think I'd be able to make it. Love to see the pictures though and if I get lucky and get my gear back by then, i'll see if I can make it. What length lens would you need? How close can you get to the birds?

For trips 50 miles or over I have to consider gas $$. My SUV sucks up 14-16 mpg. I'll ask my wife and see if she wants to go with the little one. Is there a website?

I'm still debating flying out for Scott Smith's lighting seminar in Phoenix that weekend and driving down to Tuscon to visit my father. I'll definately be there if I don't go.

jargaguy- Where are you in North Jersey?

Yes, it is the Green Chimney's children's place.

You can get very close to the birds. Some are under a tent on perches and so are a bit further.

If it's gas you're worried about, you can take Metro North to the Brewster station. It's not that far from there.
