Come one, Come all. June 3, 2007, at Green Chimneys for Rapture and Raptors. Birds of Prey Day. It's a fun filled day for all, including kids, in Brewster, N.Y., about two miles north of the end of I-684

I went last year with a few forum members and we had a great time. There's lots and lots to shoot. It is rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can be had online or the day of the event.

Who's in?

Depends on where in Manhattan. My guess is 60 miles northeast of B&H.

Sounds interesting. Unfortunately with my camera being in the canon repair dept, I don't think I'd be able to make it. Love to see the pictures though and if I get lucky and get my gear back by then, i'll see if I can make it. What length lens would you need? How close can you get to the birds?

For trips 50 miles or over I have to consider gas $$. My SUV sucks up 14-16 mpg. I'll ask my wife and see if she wants to go with the little one. Is there a website?

I'm still debating flying out for Scott Smith's lighting seminar in Phoenix that weekend and driving down to Tuscon to visit my father. I'll definately be there if I don't go.

jargaguy- Where are you in North Jersey?

Mark- Can you post some pictures from last year to give us an idea of what to expect?

Yes, it is the Green Chimney's children's place.

You can get very close to the birds. Some are under a tent on perches and so are a bit further.

If it's gas you're worried about, you can take Metro North to the Brewster station. It's not that far from there.

Here's the website.

I'm halfway between Brewster and B&H ... I'm going to try to make it. The wife is always making fun of me when I take pictures of birds though.
