WOW ! Welcome Allan. It's always nice to have someone join this forum who brings along as much experience as you obviously have. The 5D and the 85mm f/1.2 make a wonderful couple don't they? Especially for weddings, but as you have shown, also for general scenery too.

I am sure we can look forward to some helpful advice from you.

Yes, the 5D gives it's best only with the best lenses Canon has to offer...It's like a car that only runs on premium gas. I aspire to upgrade my 20D to a 5D soon.

I do like your work - not so sure about the gorey one ..

Do you prefer landscapes or portraits?

The portraits you have chosen to post are all very stylised, is this what pays?
I like the second from last (baby and reflection). I am guessing this was taken with natural light from the window. Was it difficult getting an exposure which kept the reflection?

Welcome! The images are really great. You have a genuine talent. Glad you are joining us. Do you shoot exclusively with Canon's now? I like available light a lot! I could take classes from Curtis for a year and still have issues, but I'm trying.

I started with the AE-1 Program, I'm older, but I started late. My brother converted to Nikon since his vision was going and he wanted something else. He gave me all his old stuff, including an F-1, which I still take out every once in a while and shoot a roll of B&W. But really, I use my EOS 3 much more and as a 3rd body for weddings. Once I went digital, it was hard to go back to film. I'm shooting mostly events and that's been great. I meet a lot of interesting people, mostly photographers. The POTN people in the midwest just had a big gathering in Chicago. Too bad you missed that. We get together here in the east sometimes, just a few of us, but the gatherings are always fun. And still, would like to see more of your work here.

Yes, I've been amazed at the 5D's ability to get good shots in low lighting. That's one of the main reasons I bought the 5D to begin with.
