I'll be doing an on location shoot of twins and their mom/dad. What should i bring? The problem is I have alot of stuff. Lens/Lights/Reflectors... you name it... i got it. Got a feeling i'll be overpacking again this time. Any advice on location shooter out there?
Thanks! |

Inside or outside?
I'd start with the 24-105 & keep everything else handy. Mother & Daughter shoot advice

The 5D with 24-105, or the 30D with 24-70 f/2.8
Family will not appreciate much any marginal quality improvement in using the 5D. The 24-70 on 30D would permit nice indoor shooting without too severely limited DOF issues (70mm at f/2.8 and 10' shooting allows just over 1.1' od DOF) Of course, bring the lights along! The reflectors would be handy if they can stand by themselves. The handheld reflectors are useful only if you can conscript a family member to position it for you (not likely if they are all in the group shot)

I bring a DSLR with a backup, two external flashes, plenty of batteries for both cameras and flashes, a minimum of 4GB of memory, a 17-55 IS, a 28-70L, an 85mm prime, and a 70-200L.

dont forget tripod too. way easier to have camera on the tripod and have both eyes on them when u shoot. U will look way more professional and get better shots.
if shooting outside, one external flash and one on camera flash would rock. same as indoors unless u bounce flash. |
