Well, I'm thinking about this lens (or the EF 70-200 f/4L), but I'm surprised to see there is no thread in the archive for it. Can people who have this lens post a few shots, full-frame and 100% crops?

Thanks,

Tony

Here's one I took before mine(my fault) broke. It's due back in a week or so. The one at flickr might be a larger size.

people overlook this lens, i sold my 70-200f4L for this
i think this is a great lens for the 1.6 crop, you can have f2.8 with small size and beign black it attracts less attention.
and i like the IQ of this lens more then that of the 70-200f4L

I'd like to try one of these but the focus issues scare me off, I'm not into sending something brand new in for calibration either. Aahhh to be a gambling man. ;)

We need updates on this thread. I'm thinking this is the perfect lens to combine with a tokina 12-24 for a 1.6x sensor.

This seems like the perfect lens. Anyone know the best place to buy this for the cheapest price (seems it isn't b&h).

I got mine from Sigma4less for $585. This makes 4 lenses I've bought from them with no problems.

Yes, S4L is a great place to get lenses, but all come with the 1 year warranty (gray market). If you go with B&H, Adorama, etc., then the EX lenses (including the 50-150) come with 4 year warranties.

Thats not correct, the lens from Sigma4less came with a 4 year warranty. The included paperwork was for a USA lens, just like all the other lenses I have ordered from them.

Well, there you go. S4L used to sell only gray market lenses, I thought. They must be doing pretty well now.

Yeah, you are correct, they used to sell grey market and I assumed they still did when I bought my first one from them last year. Imagine my surprise when it was delievered with that 4 year warranty and USA paperwork! I don't know when they changed, but I'm not complaining!
