Default Underwater A570IS LCD Help

Hey Gang, having an issue with my LCD while using my A570IS underwater in the Canon Housing. I Can't See Anything. In the image below, all I could see was a black blob moving across the screen. I had to resort to the optical viewfinder to find the fish, and hope they were centered.

I realize I don't have a super contrasty image here (this was a better picture), but can't find anything in my manual which lets me change the brightness or contrast of the LCD image. There is a note that the LCD changes based on ambient conditions for brightness, but I can't find how to fool that. The areas I've been snorkeling have been cloudy at time, so the images aren't that great.

No PP Done to this image, other than resize.

Hope someone can offer some clues here.

Were you using the (I'm assuming - one came with the housing for my A620) supplied hood? You might also want to turn up the brightness when shooting underwater. And how deep were you? You may not have noticed that the screen's not terribly responsive in dim conditions based solely on surface use.

No, no supplied hood with mine. Friend bought one for an A75 and got a hood. Gotta see if B&H has one separate I guess. One of the other guys I was snorkeling with had one, but not sure what camera he had. Also, can't find out how to turn up the brightness in the manual for mine. Couldn't get much deeper than 10', kind of a wimp at holding my breath right now. I do know the LCD isn't great, had trouble even in bright light today.
