Probably not, Sigma has a bunch of really cheap lenses, I love their EX lenses, but you have to be careful with the some of their standard lenses, they're pretty bad.. I bought a 28-70 f/2.8 "High speed zoom" with my first XT, it was AWFUL! It made my kit lens look like an L lens!

i did. was my first lens after the kit lens.
looking back at the pictures, i would say they were not spectacular, just consumer range i guess. but for $40, you may just want to check it out for yourself. |

ended getting it for $20 because the gears were stripped for the AF. Now its MF only.... I will give it to one of my friends. A good way to start out.
