I did a search and found plenty. Use the advanced search, then go to "titles only" option and type in "moon." You will find hundreds of shots, some stating the settings, others with exif you can view if you have the exif program (a great program by the way.)I tried to copy and paste but it wouldn't copy for me from the exif window.

If you've heard of or used the "Sunny 16" rule for daylight shots, you might like my version of that for the full Moon, namely the "Moony 8" rule. A pretty good start to a full Moon exposure would be about f/8 at 1/ISO. So for ISO 400, use f/8 at 1/400 seconds (or f/5.6 at 1/800, etc.). Also, use a tripod, even if you can get the exposure faster than 1 over the focal length, the added sharpness never hurts. For quarter phase moon shots, add a bit to the "Moony 8", maybe even to "Moony 5.6" or so since even a few days away from full moon, the so called opposition affect makes the full moon significantly more than twice as bright as a quarter phase moon.

Jim.

Tripod and remote. Moony rule, I like that. ;]

You can also use your AEB settings to find the right exposure too. 1 out of the 3 should turn out alright.

Anyone ever use photomatix - HDR for a moon shot? I came up with this last night using three raws. The top is a bit toasted, but it's kind of interesting to look at. I've got another less burnt one as well, but I thought this looked spiffy...almost, but not quite, 3d.

Shot with a 70-200mm lens (waiting impatiently on tele-converter), cropped, yada, yada.
