Default Wedding Images

I do sports and Glamour photography mostly. But once and awhile I get asked to do weddings. Long day, good pay and fun.

C&C most welcomed.

I really like the lighting in these photographs. Did you take any studio lighting with you? What set up did you use? Pretty nice. The kiss looks soooooo romantic. That's love!

Very cool shots, it's obvious you know your stuff about lighting. i enjoy taking them as a second shooter with very little pay, I can't wait to do them knowing I'm getting paid the big bucks haha. Keep up the great work.

All were taken with a 580EX flash. Either pointed to the sky with the white bounce up. The Kiss image was natural light, if I remember correctly with a 70-200mm zoom. Others were taken with a 16-35mm. ISO 400 to 640 used in most image. All manual settings 1/160 to 1/250 - f/4 to f/11

Beautiful. Can you explain for me when you get a chance what you meant by pointed to the sky with the white bounce up? thanks!

Great shots! I use the same gear (a lonely 580EX trying to create good lighting). It's tough! I have tried the Fong LS, homemade bouncers, and like you mentioned, flash pointed to the sky with the white card up. Oh, for the person who asked "What do you mean white card up"? If you own a 580EX, then there is a white card down inside your flash head that can be extended to help throw some of the flash forward.

Oh, ok thanks. No, I have the 430 EX but I want to get the 580 as my primary and keep the 430 for back-up.

I like #4. I must say that #3 freaks me out a little bit. the prespective plays tricks on my eyes.

If you do not have a 580Ex, you can just take an elastic and a white plastic card about the size of a credit card and get the same effect.

Some nice stuff there!

Some CC since you asked:

1 is really nice. I like it.
2 looks a little under to me.
3 looks like the highlights were REALLY pulled back. Do you happen to have a version without quite as much highlight recovery?
4 also looks like it has a lot of fill light added in post processing. Were you still pointing the flash to the sky with the white card pulled out? If you use direct flash then you would hardly need any PP fill at all.

otherwise great work.

No real excess post processing. Just your regular adjustments of levels. curves added a touch of saturation and contrast. With #3 I used a bit of shadow/hightlight in CS.

Thanks for the comments
