Sounds like it should be a ball team but these are shots of a male Cardinal that I got at Cornell University's Sapsucker Wooods.

Nice poses, but it looks like they needed a little too much noise reduction. Maybe try the history brush on the bird only, after noise reduction, if your using the photoshop plugin.

Nice captures. Good colour and composition. Whenever I hear people talking about PP it really throws me off...noise reduction, history brush, cloning in, cloning out. As you can tell I do not know much about PP. As I am originally a sportsshooter (until 2 years ago--all film), we could not PP anything...just some sharpening allowed and all shots were jpeg and not raw. But I notice that just about everyone shoots raw and does their corrections later...some fabulous work I might add. It just seems that it is such a huge learning curve that I will have to bite the bullet and learn eventually!

Are you using CS2 by any chance? If you also have the NeatImage plugin, you can run it on the whole image, then use the History brush to brush over the bird itself to bring it back to it's original quality. Faster. Either that, or select around the bird, invert and run NR on the background and leave the bird alone. Much slower.

I'm using PS7. I don't know if I can follow your suggestions with it but I'll check it out.

I think PS7 has a History brush, I can't remember now.
