What iso settings and f settings are best for pictures. IE, what are good for day or night shots?
flash or no flash. I understand shutter speed but the iso and F settings give me trouble. Anyone have a link where these are explained on line? |

ISO settings are films speeds. Not sure about the technical parts of it but basically low ISO settings (50/100 etc) are for bright sunny days. 200/300 is best used for cloudy days while 400 is touted as an all round setting. As in use in any condition, however do note that increasing ISO speeds tend to make ur pictures grainy.
Of F-stops I believe they're measurements for aperture size.....the hole which lets light into the camera on the lense. A larger hole would mean more light in and brighter pics. Something like what a long shutter speed does. But the other issue of aperture is the affect on the depth of field. I am not very good in this part of it tho so will let someone else help u out here = ). Note that a smaller number denotes a larger aperture. |

Large apeture= small depth of field
Small apeture= large depth of field Any iso above 100 will probably add much graininess to the shot for most tastes. |
