Well, somewhat unexpectedly, I shot my first Track and Field meet today. I have only been to a few track meets, so I wasn't sure what to expect, or exactly where to be.
My first action shot... ![]() A runner... ![]() An adorably cute boy... Not to mention quick as lightning... Man could this kid run! ![]() I welcome any C & C, but would love to hear some ideas on how to deal with glare. As you can see in each of these photos the Glare was horrendous. All of these are SOC, only resized to post here. I shoot a lot of sports, but usually games are in the evening, or morning. The past month or so, I have had several games in the middle of the day with temps around 90 and BRIGHT sunny skies, causing horrible glare.

Sorry I can't help you with the glare question. On the long/triple jump maybe show the sand pit. Shots of the sand flying upon landing can be fun too. Gotta see the feet on the fast runner! You've got alot of nice action shots in your gallery.

I'll admit, I chimped a lot on Saturday. I noticed the lack of sand in the first dozen or so long jump shots, and adjusted accordingly. I'll post another shot later this evening. The sand was rather clumpy and therefor didn't "fly" much, but my son landed, and dove forward rolling through the sand... He had a blast. I would have loved to get the feet on the quick runner, but he came up on me so fast, I couldn't adjust in time. I was sitting on the curve right in front of him. I saw little kids on the line and figured I had a few seconds, next thing I know this kid is barreling down on me. I was lucky to get that shot! I got almost all of the other runners after he passed me. I'll know better next weekend when I see him at the line.
