Default My new gallery

Finally got my stuff together, collected together some of my favorites, and put them on my desktop. Gallery is at kimbler-pc.ces.clemson.edu/photo, comments welcomed.

DEL

You have a very polished and tasteful gallery. Great variety. Great color. Exposure and sharpness are all there.

My viewing gravitated to the shot that you took in Eritrea. It was my favorite for 3 reasons;
(1) a French speaking colleague at work is from Eritrea, so I felt an attachment,
(2) the shot was made with "my" Minolta SR-1 (I bought mine in NYC in 1963), and
(3) the composition (line, direction, interest, complexity & simple at one and the same time) and action, make at an undeniable great, great shot. It works perfectly. Superb. Bravo.

Howie,

Happy to meet another SR-1 owner. It was my second camera, first bayonet-mount SLR. I used it until a few years ago, sold it on eBay along with some lenses and a P&S Nikon to partially finance my G1. I still have an SRT-201 I picked up used, and a Minolta 135mm zoom.

None of these were pro quality, but they were very good for their times and gave excellent service. I have a lot of slides and negatives taken with the SR-1, and am slowly going through them to re-print some of the best. I have a few more taken in Eritrea, both Ektachrome and Tri-X/Plus-X. My favorites are "candid portraits" of the people there, and I will let you know when I get some more in the gallery.
