Any tips for shots at the beach when it's mostly cloudy?

Going to the San Juan Islands soon and the weather may be cloudy with very little sun and even have a few showers.

Any tips or creative ideas would be appreciated.

i like shooting the beach when its cloudy. that way I dont get burnt!!

showers are another thing completely! run and hide

Take a tripod and try some long exposures.......like into the 5-30 sec range see what happens.

You don't have to run and hide when it's wet. The beach can be quite atmospheric in a storm.
