Hi,
I'm planning on getting an XTi and I want to know if an SDHD 4GB card and adapter will work with this camera. My GPS and cellphone use SD cards and I would prefer to stay with SD. Thanks Bob Last edited by Bobg1 : 19th of July 2007 (Thu) at 09:32. |

I think you'd be better off just buying CF cards than worrying about adapters and all that jazz. They're not very expensive anyway.
What kind of SD cards do you use in the your cellphone and GPS?

I already own the cards, I just need the 12.00 adapter.

Just buy a CF card. They are cheap. There is a 2 gig Sandisk for $35 and a 4 gig for $60 on Amazon (and you may find cheaper ones elsewhere). Just a thought, though.

I can't speak to the XTi, but the Mark III can definitely read SDHC. I just took a 4GB microSD card out of my Pocket PC Phone and put it into an SD adapter and was able to use it to take pictures with the Mark III. I could then look at the pictures in my Pocket PC Phone (Sprint Mogul - PPC-6800). Of course there isn't much point in doing this now since the display on the Mark III is almost the exact same size as the one on my Phone...
By the way, its SDHC (High Capacity), not SDHD. OK, I just realized what you were trying to do and I don't think it will work. I was thinking the XTi had an SD slot like the Mark III. The CF to SD adapter that I have ends up with the SD card sticking out from the normal size of CF so that wouldn't probably fit in there... but you may find a different one. I agree with the others that you may not want to mess with an adapter in your camera for your main shooting.
