Default Cat Man Do

Sunday morning in the garden and what do we find while watering... the animal that's been gorging on all the succulents. I guess that's why they call them that. Anyway, here's five of the better shots from 125 taken... before he was released in the wild.

Overview

Halloween

Fred Astaire

Can I get an Amen!

The End

Enjoy your Sunday.

Don

He's about 2.5 inches (6cm). Taken with a G2, the first shot with +5 and the others with +15.

'before he was released in the wild'
unquote

you

ha ha ha ha
'anything can do ' after this

your photography sweat is falling all around in the first shot nearly drowning the little hairy beauty Don

what a close up
and the leaf veins really show up it's size
beautiful colours
especially in the second shot

trying to figure out how you got underneath the bug for the fourth shot

so much detail in those tiny hairy attachments
all seems backlit......

in a studio maybe

maybe the sun shone from the right places at the right time

the third shot.... Fred Astaire was never so graceful
(looks like he is falling falling falling.. flying, at an angle........ coming straight for your camera)

then he has the nerve to look for an encore (fourth shot)

beautiful shades in the final curtain (behind)
it is like a studio set up.
you must have done a lot of work behind the scenes

in the fifth shot the 'thing' (by now it's a 'thing' )
has the appearance of a posh rat with hairy wings ( but out of the race)

just lying there......... exhausted

waiting to get a pat on the head no doubt

(the shape looks so different to the other shots)

real nice close ups and 'story' Don
the hairy detail is nail biting

I see it now ( clearly, in the last shot)
I see you put a collar on it .
that's the secret

Hi Bruce,

That's makes three of us... Leela and I haven't seen anything like it either. I'm going to have to make friends with an entymology professor in one of the local colleges.

Thanks for your comments.

Every time I post, I think to myself... how many hours is this going to take out of Marie's life. But then I post anyway... I just try to make it something worthwhile.

Thanks, as always, for your comments and personal takes on the photos... they're always amusing and often insightful (at least if they don't tell us something about the photos, they tell us something about you).

As for the last photo, make sure you know your heads from your tails. This is his little bum.

Cheers,

Don

Wow.. these shots of an otherwise scary looking critter have such sensitivity.. very impressive work Don.. With the mantis .. being a critter I allready have an affinity for.. they seem so natural as a model that there beauty was not in my mind neccesarily attributed to your photography...

Here.. your special gift at shwing "critters" at there best is much more evident in that it is more obvious that I would not see this creature the way I am seeing it here in these photos... were I to come across it myself.

So,. you find an uglier bug and I find all the more reason to be blown away by your studies.. including the Mantis shots.... which have allways blown me away. 8)

P.S.,.. you think this thing is big and wild looking now?.. I can't stop trying to imagine what sort of flying Moth or butterfly he will become!
