The Common Yellow Warblers were photographed yesterday at Petrie Island and are fairly heavy crops but the 400 F5.6 's IQ coupled with low ISO helped keep some details. The First year Yellow Warbler through me off track as I wasn't sure about the white eye ring but thats how they look. This Warbler was in my yard and I took as many shots as I could in the minute or so he stuck around. This is the second year now that Yellow Warblers show up in my yard and i figure its the sound of water or the bird bath that attracts them.
All taken with 30D and 400 F5.6 and some with the 580EX for flash fill. Common Yellow Throats...ISO 250 1st image at 1/400 sec F 5.6 and exp.comp at +1/3. .......2nd and 3rd Commons at ISO 320 at 1/320 sec F5.6 Flash at -2/3 and exp.comp at +1/3. First Year Yellow shot at ISO 250, F5.6 and 6.3 at 1/500 sec. Flash used in 3 of the shots for fill at -1 Regards ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nothing short of works of art. Focus, detail, composition and colour are impeccable. This is of the caliber of National geographic and certainly better than comparable shots from the Audobon Society. As beautiful a series as I have ever seen. Tremendous work here. Congratulations.

They are works of art. Beautifully done. Man, I really like that #6. It looks like a diorama type of thing with all the different levels. Amazing shots, you put a lot of planning and thought into these and it sure shows.

Wow...stunning series Gary. These shots have the pop factor so they almost look 3D. Excellent work as always my friend.

Very nice Gary, especially the Common Yellowthroats. They are a hard one to get a good open shot of most times......BTW the last photo of what you thought was a juvenile CYT is actually an adult female.

A super series Gary! I really like the pose it gave you in the first shot...I bet it flew off right after you depressed the shutter button!
