Default B&G just gave me a bottle of wine!

I shot for 2 hours for them a few weeks ago at what worked out at a very good hourly rate (shoot & burn), had their CD ready when they came back from their honeymoon a week later, and gave them a free DVD slide show because for what they paid I thought they should get one. I did thank you cards for them as well, not a lot of money in them. When they came to pick them up they gave me a bottle of wine! That's my first gift in 3 years! Tipping's almost unheard of here, gifts like this are pretty rare too.

It's always nice to feel appreciated

Yep I drink wine, it's a local sav, Oyster Bay - there are probably hundreds of wineries in New Zealand. It's the thought that counts!

We got a gift similar from a couple who's wedding we did back in May. When I went around to drop of their photos - they pulled out a bottle of Lindaur & a chocolates. Was a nice surprise - but they were so overwhelmed with their photos.. was good warm fuzzies.

Thats awesome, I did a wedding for a couple who's son is in Scouts with mine and I charged a fair fee for 5 hours and I stayed for another 2 hours. When came to finish paying me they gave me an extra $200.00 and thanked me for staying the extra time and i told them it was my pleasure and told them no thanks but they insisted. So i said ok!

What type of job for two hours? Engagement shoot?

That's really nice. Personal, thought out gifts/tips are worth so much more to the heart than $$$$. Good for you
