Default Back lit please C&C

What do you think of this photo? Too busy? Would like to hear your honest comments. This is my first submission. I used a hand held EF 70-200 L F/4

There lies the problem. If the pictures leads to questions like this, it's usually too busy. Yes I'd say it's too busy, well exposed and what not, but it is a tad busy.

if the boat in the foreground is your subject then yes, it's too busy.

In a word "Yes" it's too busy.

And, the brighter boat in the background is pulling our eye away from the foreground boat.

Keep at it, and...

And you cropped the bow off

Personally I'd rather not take a shot when it's busy if it's a subject I know I can get another time when it's not going to be busy.

I hate background clutter. Sometimes you can remove it with a narrower DOF but with objects this close together there's not much you can do.

I agree with all of you 100%. My main problem is lack of patience. New camera, new lens, new hobby. I believe that I will start getting better with practice. There is so much to learn and so much practice is needed to get those good shots. I envy many of the shots that I see on this forum and very anxious to duplicate them. Thanks for the C&C
